Kinesiology

What is Kinesiology?

Kinesiology is a holistic way of detecting and correcting imbalances in your body's energy. These imbalances may relate to stress, injury, nutrition, learning difficulties, pain, anxiety or some other cause.

Kinesiology is the use of muscle-testing to find out where these imbalances are and what is needed to correct them. Your body has lines of energy running through it, which are called meridians, and these may be blocked in some way. By testing various muscles we can get a read-out of what is happening with them. In this way, your body chooses, by indicating with muscle responses, what is best for you, rather than the practitioner telling you what you need.

Professional Kinesiology Practitioners look beyond symptoms to the cause of the problem. We work with the mind and the emotions as well as the body, using many different techniques to enable you to release energy blocks, eliminate toxins, reduce tension and enhance your body's natural healing ability.

Kinesiology doesn't just deal with ailments; it can also help you improve performance and achieve goals you may be having difficulty reaching, whether at work or home, in sports, at school or in relationships. Although we are able to improve our health and well-being to a certain degree on our own, sometimes we need a helping hand.

Kinesiology is non-invasive and pain-free. It brings awareness and insight by finding solutions, clearing stresses and pain, and enabling you to reach your full potential

Your Therapist

Jo Barker (MBRCP)

I has been practising muscle checking since the mid 1990’s and began professional training for Kinesiology in 2003. My preferred way to work is to feel a thread or journey intuitively. I encourage and ‘skilfully’ I hope, guide the person I am working with to lead me. It is this listening /awareness that is essential to the healing journey.

I have mainly worked with directly with the land. I am still drawn to this, however I feel drawn to work with people and appreciate that I am called on a personal healing journey. I have felt Kinesiology is a calling.
